For agencies & consulting firms (5–50 people)
Get paid on time without awkward follow-ups.
Smarter AR for professional services. Obligely drafts the right follow-up for every open invoice — aware of retainers, milestones and hourly billing — tracks promises to pay, and pauses when a client raises a concern. You approve every message.

Chasing invoices is the job nobody wants
Awkward conversations
You work closely with your clients. Sending a blunt “your invoice is overdue” feels like it could cost you the account — so reminders get delayed.
Spreadsheet tracking
Who promised to pay on Friday? Which client questioned the hours? That context lives in inboxes and a spreadsheet someone updates when they remember.
Complex billing
Retainers, milestones and hourly work each need different wording. Generic reminder sequences don’t know the difference.
What Obligely does
Context-aware reminders
Each draft references what the invoice is for — the retainer period, the milestone, the hours — in a friendly, neutral or firm tone you choose per client.
You stay in control
Drafts wait in an approval queue. Edit, approve or reject. Key clients automatically get a warmer tone.
Promise-to-pay tracking
Paste or forward a client reply like “we’ll pay by Friday” and the promised date is captured, reminders pause, and a follow-up is drafted only if the date passes.
Dispute detection
If a client questions scope, hours or pricing, the invoice is flagged, reminders stop, and you get an acknowledgement draft — so automation never talks over a real conversation.
How it works
- Connect QuickBooks Online or Xero (or start with demo data).
- Prioritize — open invoices are ranked with the reasons shown.
- Approve AI-drafted reminders that match each client relationship.
- Track replies, promises, disputes and payments in one place.
- Review a weekly receivables summary in your inbox.

Frequently asked questions
Is this a collection agency?
No. Reminders are sent in your firm’s own name, to your own clients, about your own invoices. We never contact anyone as a third party.
Does anything get sent without my approval?
No. Every reminder is drafted for review. You can edit the wording, change the tone, or reject it. During the preview, approved emails go to a preview outbox and are not delivered.
Which accounting tools do you support?
QuickBooks Online and Xero are the planned integrations, using their official APIs. Until those connections are live you can explore the full workflow with demo data.
How is this different from the reminders built into my accounting software?
Built-in reminders follow a fixed sequence. We add context for retainer, milestone and hourly billing, per-client tone, promise-to-pay tracking, and dispute detection that pauses reminders when a client raises a concern.
Does the AI decide who gets chased?
The AI drafts wording and reads client replies to spot payment promises and disputes. Prioritization uses transparent rules you can see on each invoice. You make the final call.
Do you predict when clients will pay?
Not yet. Payment predictions need your payment history, so we do not show them until there is enough data to be meaningful.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Plans are month-to-month and you can cancel from Settings.
Where is my data stored?
The hosting region will be confirmed on this page before public launch (a United States region is planned). Data is encrypted in transit, and we only import what reminders need: clients, contacts, invoices and payment status.
